24 hours without the internet

We decided to have a day offline and it was lovely!

We went away for the weekend and stayed in a town called Tamariu in Gerona, just an hour and a half by car from our house in Barcelona.

We got up at the crack of dawn (very early in the morning) and went down to the beach to see the sunrise.

The water was crystal clear and blue, we would have swum if it hadn’t been so cold! Not even the fish were awake at that time of the day 🙂

Then we got back to the apartment, we put our trainers (zapatillas de deporte) on and went running. We look very sleepy!

We had a well deserved breakfast with toast, biscuits, mango, figs, cereals and yogurt. That pumpkin was for later on, as it was Halloween that night.

We had time to take some stupid photos as well!

We went to explore the area and to take some more photos!

The homeless cats in this town are very well fed (bien alimentados)! Look at this little fury ball (bola peluda).

Back in the apartment we cooked some lunch, had tea and more biscuits and we read some books that the owner had left on the self. Most of them were horror books and that night was Halloween, a bit scary already!

And to end the day we went to scare the locals! However Phillip was chased by some children who were trying to remove his mask and cape! Quite brave children I would say, because he didn’t look like someone with good intentions :-0

Isabel was told by the children: “You are not scary, do you know that?” Quite cheeky (descarado, atrevido) children!

Overall it was a great day and we did not miss the internet at all! We’ll definetely have more days like this one.

We hope you enjoyed this post!

  1. Wow!!! I love this entry! It looks such a pretty good looking place. That is one of my kabillion places pending for me to go. It was soo funny to see you both dressed up with Halloween costumes. Unfortunately I don’t need a costume to scare somebody, I just start talking loud and then everybody runs away!! Lol! That’s why I’m called The Holler.
Lovely post and looking forward to read more posts! You both make a great job to help us improving our English! Thanks so much guys!

  2. I really liked how you spent their day off. The way you have placed the photos with their respective argument I liked a lot. The explanation for the discount of Airbnb, honestly I did not understand , but it doesn’t matter. Thank you very much for taking the trouble to email the differents subjects of English. I have been following them to you for a long time. I am very grateful to you. SEE YOU NEXT TIME. Nicanor from Vallecas, Madrid. Friday the 6th of November 2015

    • Thanks for your comment Nicanor. It’s quite simple. If you sign up here you will receive a discount for your first trip with Airbnb. See you soon!

    Me ha encantado el pueblecito.
    Un saludillo.

  4. very nice photos it seems you had a great time. i wanted to ask you if Iam describing a Picture and i want to refer to the mother or father should I say the dad is running or dad is running and mum is cooking or the mum is cooking en español si diriamos la mama esta cocinando pero en inglés tengo dudas gracias!

    • Hi Florencia, thanks for your comment. If you are telling a children’s story then you don’t need to use ‘the’ because ‘mother’ is like the character’s name. 😉

  5. I liked very much this Mail about halloween!. I dressed with my daughter too and We decorared the house with a lot of “telarañas”!!!😄😄😄🎃👻it was funny

    • Hi Mon! We’re glad to hear that you dressed up with your daughter and decorated for house with cobwebs. We really enjoy dressing up too! Thanks for your comment. 🙂

      • Ohhh, I love it so much I have listened to it lots of times and each time I listen to it is more amazing, I mean, I think it becomes funner and more amazing, I´d like you to make videos like that again, A video to enjoy in like that I am someone who has been learning with you two, I know I have done many courses at university But I think that If you go there and you have no experience with the language You will learn NOTHING, that used to happen to me and currently that happens to a lot of my classmates but now Duolingo and Amigos Ingleses has been the solution to this problem thanks you all. One last thing

I´d like you to say my name here. please.
