Esto es un inglés, dos estadounidenses y una española intentando mantener una conversación telefónica … ☎️ No se trata de ningún chiste, sino del vídeo que hemos grabado para ayudarte a conocer algunas de las diferencias entre el inglés británico y americano. 

But, is it really that different? Can they understand each other? Well, we want to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth🐴 (queremos la información de primera mano), y para ello hemos contado con la ayuda de dos profes de inglés de EEUU, Jessica y Allen.  ¿Crees que puede haber problemas de comunicación entre dos personas hablando el mismo idioma? 👉 Ortografía

👉 Gramática

Prepositions

Algo que nos sorprendió muchísimo es que en EEUU es más común decir ‘I work from Monday through Friday’. También para eventos como navidades o semana santa, utilizan la preposición ‘on’ en lugar de ‘at’ como en inglés británico.

The past participle of the verb ‘to get’

¿También te has liado alguna vez con ‘got’ y ‘gotten’? Well blame the Americans! En general, en USA se suele utilizar mayoritariamente ‘gotten’ como el past participle del verbo ‘to get’, mientras que en inglés británico siempre se utiliza ‘got’.
