Are you ready! Let’s go!
‘Shall I come round after lunch?’
🇬🇧 I don’t really feel like cooking.
Shall we eat out?
🇺🇸 I don’t really feel like cooking.
What about eating out?
🇬🇧 Excuse me, there is a hole in your tights.
🇺🇸 Excuse me, there is a hole in your pantyhose.
🇬🇧 Often, it is difficult for students to practise English.
🇺🇸 Oftentimes, it is difficult for students to practise English.
Las preposiciones: los británicos prefieren usar ‘at’ para referirse a ciertos eventos como la navidad (at Christmas), la Semana santa (at Easter) o el fin de semana, mientras en inglés americano se usa la preposición ‘on’ para hablar de estos eventos.
Si sigues teniendo pesadillas con estos pequeños monstruos gramaticales, en este post tienes un mini test y un montón de ejemplos con las preposiciones de lugar in, on, at.
🇬🇧 I love going out at weekends.
🇺🇸 I love going out on weekends.
🇬🇧 My birthday is on 9th December.
🇺🇸 My birthday is on December 9th.
Entiendo perfectamente a qué te refieres …
🇬🇧
– It’s so hard to work from home
when you have children.
– I totally understand what you mean!
🇺🇸
– It’s so hard to work from home
when you have children.
– I hear you!
¡Genial! ¡Estupendo!
🇬🇧
– I got an A in my English exam.
– Brilliant!
🇺🇸
– I got an A in my English exam.
– Sweet!
🇬🇧 You live in central London, don’t you?
🇺🇸 You live in central London, right?
El participio del verbo ‘get’.
🇬🇧 Is Richard late again?
He must have got lost.
🇺🇸 Is Richard late again?
He must have gotten lost.
🇬🇧 I spilled wine on his shirt by accident.
🇺🇸 I spilled wine on his shirt on accident.
🇬🇧 How’s it going, mate?
🇺🇸 How’s it going, dude?
El punto final.
🇬🇧 When I say no talking I mean no talking!
Full stop!
🇺🇸 When I say no talking I mean no talking!
Period!
