🐕 Let’s begin then!
Mini diccionario de jerga británica
1. Bloke
👉 Significa: tío, tipo.
👉 Ejemplo: “I was just chatting to the postman outside. He’s such a nice bloke!”
2. Quid
👉 Ejemplo:“Can you lend me a couple of quid?” (¿Me puedes prestar un par de libras?)
“You owe me 20 quid.” (Me debes 20 libras.)
👉 Ejemplo: “Here’s your beer”. “Cheers mate”. (Aquí está tu cerveza. Gracias amigo.)
“Are you alright mate?” (¿Qué tal colega?)
4. Fag
👉 Significa: cigarrillo, pitillo, piti.
👉 Ejemplo: “Are you coming out for a fag?” (¿Te vienes fuera a fumar un pitillo?)
5. Bullshit
👉 Significa: pamplinas, mentiras, chorradas.
👉 Ejemplo: “She told me that she couldn’t come because she had to do her laundry.” “Seriously, that’s bullshit.”
“Don’t bullshit me” (No me cuentes chorradas.)
6. Reckon
👉 Ejemplo: “Who do you reckon will win the match?” (¿Quién crees que ganará el partido?)
“I reckon she’s forgotten to buy milk again.”
7. Bollocks
👉 Significa: mierda, cojones. (Excuse my French!) Literalmente significa testículos.
👉 Ejemplo: “Bollocks! I forgot to turn off the iron off!” (¡Mierda! Se me ha olvidado apagar la plancha.)
8. Bloody
👉 Significa: maldito.
👉 Ejemplo: “That bloody dog is driving me mad.” (Ese maldito perro me está volviendo loco.) “That bloody car is always blocking the entrance of my house.”
“Bloody hell, it’s raining again!” (¡Joder, está lloviendo otra vez! )
👉 También: significa ‘muy’ y ‘tan’.
“The soup in that cafe is bloody lovely.”
“That music last night was so bloody loud I couldn’t sleep a wink!”
9. Brilliant
👉 Significa: genial, estupendo.
👉 Ejemplo: “The weather forecast says sunny skies tomorrow! Brilliant!” ¡Genial!)
10. Dodgy
👉 Significa: sospechoso, chungo.
👉 Ejemplo: “That restaurant looks a bit dodgy, I wouldn’t have dinner there.”
11. Nutter
👉 Significa: loco, chiflado, pirado, chalado.
👉 Ejemplo: “Can you believe she threw a chair at the door? What a complete nutter.”
“What a bloody nutter!” (¡Menudo chiflado!)
12. Plonker
👉 Significa: idiota, gilipollas.
👉 Ejemplo: “He’s dropped the phone down the toilet again” “What a plonker”. Menudo gilipollas.)
13. Blimey
👉 Significa: ostras, caramba, caray.
👉 Ejemplo: “Blimey, you’ve lost a lot of weight since the last time I saw you!” (¡Caramba!
14. Stuff
👉 Significa: cosas.
👉 Ejemplo: “I don‘t think I’ll be able to meet you later. I’ve got lots of stuff to do today.” (No creo que pueda quedar más tarde. Tengo muchas cosas que hacer hoy.)
15. Loo
👉 Significa: baño, lavabo. Es coloquial, pero no es vulgar utilizarla, de hecho es normal escuchar a los niños decir: “Mummy I need to go to the loo.”
👉 Ejemplo: “I’m just popping to the loo.”
16. Crap
👉 Ejemplo: “I should buy a new phone, this one’s crap” (Debería comprarme otro teléfono móvil, este es una mierda.)
17. Gutted
👉 Significa: destrozado (moralmente), decepcionado, abatido.
👉 Ejemplo: “He was absolutely gutted when his application to study at Cambridge University was rejected”.
18. Epic
👉 Significa: fantástico, buenísimo, una pasada.
👉 Ejemplo: “The gig last night was epic!”
19. Knackered
👉 Significa: muy cansado, hecho polvo, destrozado físicamente.
👉 Ejemplo: “I’ve been working 12 hours a day this week, I’m totally knackered. (Esta semana he estado trabajando 12 horas al día, estoy hecho polvo.
20. Wicked
👉 Ejemplo: “I’ve booked the flights to New York, we’re leaving next week!” – “Wicked!”

Thank you so much, now I can use slang words with my friends. That is wicked mates!
But I have some questions
Thank you so much mates!
Hello! A cafe is the same as a coffee shop, it’s the place where you have ‘coffee’ a slice of carrot cake …mmm yummy.
Mate is countable! I’m going for a drink with my mates! 🙂
I’m trying to speak English 🇬🇧 and I can’t understand my English teacher but with you is more easier
thanks a lot I want to be a good teacher or maybe something like you
Greetings from Bogota colombia
I really love your channel on YouTube
Thank you so much Larry! I’m sure you’ll be a great teacher, like Mr Bartlett, hehe 🙌
Recuerda:
———-
Learning with your is easy (fácil).
Learning with you is easier than with my English teacher (más fácil).
———-
It’s more difficult to learn with my teacher than with you.
———-
I hope it helps! Now I feel bad about your teacher!!! 😓
Gran trabajo chicos!
You are fantastic!
My students love your videos and I also update my English, learnt in the very “academic” atmosphere of the 80s. Thanks so, so much!

Cheers,
Good morning everybody.
You’re right! Thanks for letting us know María. It’s now been corrected. Have a lovely week 🙂
